Domestic Felony Assault with a Dangerous Weapon Charges Dismissed 10/25/19

October 2019

CHARGE: DOMESTIC FELONY ASSAULT WITH A DANGEROUS WEAPON (R.I.G.L. 11-5-2(b))

Marin and Barrett, Inc. is extremely pleased to report that a charge of felony assault with a dangerous weapon brought against our Client in the Providence County Superior Court has been dismissed.  The Police were called to a local home where an eyewitness told to the police that he had observed chasing her boyfriend out of their home while waving a large knife at him.  The Police located our Client who had in her possession a large knife and she was then arrested and charged with felony assault with a dangerous weapon.

Once we were hired to defend our Client, we began a thorough investigation including looking into the background of our Client's boyfriend.   We were able to uncover the fact that he has had six other women take restraining orders out against him for violent, assaultive, and criminal behavior.  After having numerous discussions with the Prosecutor and the alleged complaining witness, the charges were dismissed by the Prosecution in the Providence Superior Court.  If you or a loved one is facing a felony assault charge in Rhode Island, give the experienced criminal defense attorneys at Marin and Barrett, Inc. a call for immediate and experienced legal advice and criminal defense representation.
