From Warrant to Freedom: Attorney Ollman Secures Dismissal of Eluding Charges on April 25th, 2024

April 2024

CHARGE: RECKLESS DRIVING / ELUDING

In a recent legal victory, Attorney Jason Ollman with the Marin, Barrett, and Murphy Law Firm came to the aid of a Client facing misdemeanor reckless driving / eluding charges dating back to 2018. The Client, who had relocated to New Hampshire, was taken aback upon discovering an outstanding warrant related to the case. Determined to address the matter and secure closure, she reached out to our firm for assistance.

The case stemmed from an incident in South Kingstown, with the client subsequently learning of an open warrant despite believing the charges had been resolved years ago. With concerns about potential legal repercussions and a desire to address the issue promptly, she sought legal representation.

Attorney Jason Ollman swiftly took action upon being retained, initiating communication with the South Kingstown Police to facilitate the next steps. Through coordinated efforts, a court appearance was arranged, allowing for the warrant's cancellation and the establishment of a personal recognizance bond.

At subsequent court proceedings, Attorney Ollman presented a robust defense on behalf of the client. Leveraging comprehensive documentation showcasing the client's commitment to rehabilitation and positive life changes, including five years of active participation in substance abuse treatment, Attorney Ollman advocated for the dismissal of the charges.

Thanks to the compelling arguments presented by Attorney Ollman and the client's demonstrable efforts toward self-improvement and rehabilitation, the prosecution ultimately agreed to dismiss the eluding charges.  Moreover, with the dismissal of the charges, the client became immediately eligible to pursue expungement of other Rhode Island matters, further solidifying her path toward a clean legal record and a brighter future. This case exemplifies both Attorney Ollman and the Marin, Barrett, and Murphy Law Firm's unwavering dedication to securing favorable outcomes for our clients and ensuring that justice is served with compassion and integrity.
