Shoplifting Charges Dismissed in Kent County District Court on 6/26/23

June 2023

CHARGES: FIVE (5) COUNTS OF MISDEMEANOR SHOPLIFTING

Attorney Angelica Bovis with the Marin, Barrett, and Murphy Law Firm achieved a significant victory in a shoplifting case at Kent County District Court. Our Client faced five counts of shoplifting, amounting to approximately $1,300.00 worth of merchandise stolen from Target. The Lincoln Police Department, alerted by loss prevention, filed the charges based on video evidence.

Dedicated to providing the best defense, our attorney engaged in thorough discussions with the client, understanding the circumstances that led to the shoplifting incidents. With a strong mitigation strategy, we presented our case to the Lincoln prosecutor, advocating for a favorable resolution.

We are pleased to announce that ALL charges against our client have been DISMISSED. The prosecutor agreed to drop all counts, resulting in no criminal record. As part of the resolution, our client will complete restitution for the stolen merchandise and contribute 20 hours of community service.

CASE RESULTS: ALL FIVE COUNTS OF SHOPLIFTING DISMISSED with restitution and 20 hours of community service on June 26th, 2023.
