On December 18, 2023, our Client faced serious allegations of felony assault, marked as a subsequent 3rd offense, along with a vandalism charge in Town of West Warwick. The allegations stemmed from a situation where our Client was accused of violating a no-contact order involving the mother of his child, allegedly showing up at her residence and damaging her property.

Through careful communication and fact-finding, we uncovered that the allegations were a result of a misunderstanding.

To further assist the complaining witness, we advised her of her rights to appear in court and request the removal of the no-contact order that had been issued during our client's arraignment. This pivotal step allowed both parties to communicate during the case proceedings.

With the no-contact order successfully removed, we engaged in discussions with the Prosecutor, advocating strongly for a complete dismissal of the charges. While the Prosecutor initially hesitated to dismiss the case outright, we prepared for trial as a means to resolve the matter.

In the weeks leading up to the trial, our diligent efforts paid off. We convinced the Prosecutor to dismiss the case entirely, resulting in our Client avoiding jail time and the mandatory domestic violence education classes.  Our client can now move forward without the burden of these charges, and we are proud to have achieved a favorable outcome on their behalf.
