COVID-19 Update: Kent County Courthouse and Rhode Island Traffic Tribunal Closed Indefinitely

Yesterday evening the Rhode Island Supreme Court issued an executive order closing the Noel Judicial Complex (Kent County Courthouse) in Warwick, RI after a law enforcement office who entered the building on April 2nd tested positive for COVID-19.

Additionally, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court closed the Rhode Island Traffic Tribunal after an employee of the courthouse tested positive for COVID-19.  The two complexes are being disinfected while closed and there is no word on when they will re-open.

Emergency and essential matters in all Rhode Island counties for the Family Court, District Court and the Rhode Island Traffic Tribunal will now be heard at the Garrahy Judicial Complex in Providence.  Emergency and essential matters for Superior Court will now be heard at the Licht Judicial Complex on Benefit Street in Providence.
