CHARGE: CYBERSTALKING
Attorney Jason Ollman of the Marin, Barrett, and Murphy Law Firm achieved a significant legal victory for our client in a challenging case in the Providence County Superior Court. Our Client was facing allegations of cyberstalking, a situation that began after a brief encounter with the complaining witness on a dating website.
Our Client met the complaining witness on a dating site and they had a brief rendezvous until he said he wasn't interested in dating and thought it was a no strings attached situation. Allegedly, our Client began continually texting our client from various phone numbers and using multiple social media platforms. This relentless contact forced our other party to change their phone number and quit social media to escape the situation. Unfortunately, the situation also lead to our Client being charged with Felony Cyberstalking.
Recognizing the potential impact on our client's personal and professional life, we took immediate action. Our defense team thoroughly examined the messages and presented compelling mitigating factors. After rigorous negotiations with the prosecution, they agreed to a favorable resolution—a six-month filing.
CASE RESULT: CYBERSTALKING CHARGE RESULTED IN A SIX MONTH FILING (NO FUTHER TROUBLE) and our Client will be eligible to have the case expunged from their record up on the completion of the filing period on December 13th, 2023
