Woman Charged with DUI & Assault After Hitting Parked North Kingstown Police Cruiser

A 54 year old woman was charged with DUI and Assault after her vehicle struck a stopped North Kingstown Police cruiser Thanksgiving evening.  The Officer was treated, released, and is recovering at home.  The Police cruiser was struck as it was parked in the breakdown lane with its emergency lights on after completing a previous traffic stop.  The woman was charged with simple assault on a Police Officer for later spitting on the officers as they processed her.  To read the full story, follow the link to the Providence Journal below:
