Shoplifting Charges Dismissed in Providence District Court on April 25th, 2023

CHARGE: MISDEMEANOR SHOPLIFTING

Attorney Kensley Barrett of the Marin and Barrett Law Firm successfully defended a case involving a local college student charged with shoplifting at the Providence Place Mall. After being retained, our team immediately obtained a copy of the police report and our client's transcripts and resume from their college.

Our attorney provided a copy of our client's college transcripts and resume to the Providence Police Inspector and negotiated a dismissal in exchange for a voluntary monetary contribution to the Victim of Crimes Indemnification Fund (VCIF). At the client's arraignment, the case was dismissed by the Providence Prosecution, and the client avoided a potential misdemeanor conviction.
