Sentencing Deferred On A Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance Charge on 7/29/20
July 2020
CHARGE: POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO DELIVER A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
We at Marin & Barrett, Inc. are happy to report a fantastic outcome in the Newport Superior Court. After months of surveillance and investigation, the Police executed a coordinated raid on our client's residence which revealed evidence of a moderate drug operation. The police then arrested our client on charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
First, we secured our client's release on bail and then promptly got to work investigating the charges and the evidence against him. Facing up to 30 years in prison and thousands of dollars in fines, the investigation and discovery process was critical. After several rounds of pretrial conferences we were able to not only keep out client out of jail and off probation, but managed to defer court sentencing for three years to ensure our client maintains a clean criminal record in the future.
RESULTS: SENTENCING DEFERRED FOR THREE YEARS on July 29th, 2020
Practice area(s): Criminal Defense
Court: Newport Superior Court
