PROVIDENCE – Providence police say a man was charged with drunk driving after rear-ending another car in a crash that injured a woman and her child. The 24-year-old man was driving a truck on Atwells Avenue when he allegedly struck the other car. WPRI-TV reports that the driver fled the scene of the crash and struck two other cars as he tried to get away before he was caught and arrested by Providence police. He was charged with DWI, leaving the scene of an accident and driving without a license. The mother and child were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
