Procurement of Sex for a Fee Charge Dismissed on 1/14/2020

January 2020

CHARGES: PROCUREMENT OF SEXUAL CONDUCT FOR A FEE

Marin and Barrett, Inc. is extremely pleased to report that charges of procurement of sex for a fee against two of our clients in Providence County Superior Court have been dismissed.  The police had done an extensive undercover operation into alleged brothels in Pawtucket in an effort to put a stop to sex trafficking and prostitution.  The police then raided several spas in Pawtucket and found each client in a rather compromised position with a different masseuse, each the target of the investigation.  They were both arrested on the spot.

Once we were hired to defend our clients, we were able to get to the bottom of what the State could and could not prove.  After a thorough vetting of the charges against each of them and the strength of the evidence, we were able to persuade prosecutors that the State could not meet its burden in either case. The charges were dismissed outright and ultimately sealed from our client's records.  If you or a loved one is facing a commercial sex activity or other sex offense charge in Rhode Island, give the experienced criminal defense attorneys at Marin and Barrett, Inc. a call for immediate and experienced legal advice and criminal defense representation.

RESULT: ALL CHARGES DISMISSED AND EXPUNGED FROM OUR CLIENT'S RECORD
