Felony Drug Possession Charges Results in a Deferred Sentence in Newport Superior Court in January 2022
January 2022
CHARGES: FELONY POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (COCAINE)
Attorney Kensley Barrett with Marin & Barrett, Inc., is extremely pleased to report that a Client charged in Newport County with possession of less than 10 grams of cocaine– a felony offense – resolved with a one-year deferred sentence. After meeting with the prosecutor handling the case, Marin & Barrett, Inc., was able to negotiate the favorable one-year deferred sentence on behalf of the Client. The one-year deferred sentence does not constitute a conviction and it allows the Client to have the case removed from her record upon successful completion of the one-year period.
