Domestic Violation of a No Contact Order Charge Dismissed in the Kent County District Court 4/12/17
April 2017
CHARGE: DOMESTIC VIOLATION OF A NO CONTACT ORDER
The Law Offices of Matthew T. Marin, Esq., Inc. is pleased to report that a charge of domestic violation of a no contact order that had been brought against one of our Clients in the Kent County District Court has been dismissed. Our Client was arrested after his ex-girlfriend had called the Police and alleged that the Client had violated the no contact order by being in her presence. She also alleged that the Client had struck her. However, independent witnesses provided statements that the Client, not his ex-girlfriend, was the one that had been struck. The Police concluded their investigation by arresting the Client and charging him with domestic violation of a no contact order.
We were able to convince the Prosecutor that the charge was unfounded and should be dismissed as the incident took place in our Client's home where the ex-girlfriend was, at the time, an unwelcomed and uninvited guest. As a result of our advocacy, the Prosecutor dropped the charges. If you or a loved one is facing charges for violation of a no contact order in Kent County, RI or anywhere in Rhode Island, give Attorney Matthew Marin a call for immediate and experienced legal advice and representation.
