3rd Offense Speeding Ticket Dismissed at the Rhode Island Traffic Tribunal on June 4th, 2024
June 2024
CHARGE: Speeding 11+ Over the Limit (3rd Offense)
Our Client, a single mother of three young children, was facing her third speeding charge within a year, this time for driving 11 miles per hour over the speed limit. Given the frequency of these offenses, she was at serious risk of having her license suspended—a prospect that would have had devastating consequences for her and her family. Recognizing the severity of the situation, she immediately retained the services of Attorney Angelica Bovis.
Attorney Bovis understood the critical importance of avoiding a license suspension for her client. She swiftly got to work, gathering and presenting mitigating circumstances to the prosecution, highlighting the client's challenging circumstances. Attorney Bovis also proposed alternative measures, such as the completion of a driving retraining course, as a substitute for a suspension.
Through persistent negotiation, Attorney Bovis successfully persuaded the prosecution to agree to this alternative resolution. As a result, the client was required to complete a driver retraining course and maintain a clean driving record for six months. Importantly, she did not lose her license, allowing her to continue providing for her children without disruption.
This outcome reflects our firm's dedication to achieving the best possible results for our clients, even in the face of challenging circumstances. We are proud to have helped this client avoid the severe consequences of a third speeding offense and maintain her ability to support her family.
