PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A Pawtucket man out on bail on a domestic incident was arrested Wednesday night in Providence on drug and weapon charges.

Around 9:30 p.m., the police said, detectives Patrick M. Potter and Kris S. Poplaski spotted a car at a Providence property being watched in an ongoing drug investigation.

The detectives followed the car to West Exchange Street. As officers interviewed the driver and four occupants, they noticed a man in the back seat appeared to conceal something in his pocket.

The police recovered a pistol, and charged Eugene Reid, 30, with possession of a weapon without a license, possession of a weapon after being convicted of a crime of violence, and possession with intent to deliver of a Class D drug.
